Mrs. Otis Timms Burgess, 97, widow of H.K. Burgess, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Fellowship Health and Rehab in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County to the late Joseph and Eva Robinson Timms, Otis worked at Martin's Sausage for forty years until her retirement. Mrs. Burgess loved spending time with her family, singing, and helping the church any way she could. She was a devout member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and was a past president of WMU.
Surviving are four sons, Don, Ken, Steve, and Wade Burgess, all of Liberty; three daughters, Sylvia Moore and Joan Dickson, both of Liberty, and Kylene Holbrook of Clemson; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Allen Burgess; two sisters, Vivian Hiott and Lois Rowland; and three brothers, Carl, Alton, and Dalton Timms.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 27, at Calvary Baptist Church in Liberty, with Pastors Larry Wilson, Sr. and Jeffery Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.
