Palmer William Rackley, 74, of Wedgewood Drive, died on Saturday, August 01, 2009, following a long illness.
Mr. Rackley was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Walter D. and Annie Finley Rackley. He was the retired owner of Sunshine Cleaners and Rental Uniform Service, Clinton, SC. He was a Mason and a Shriner and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church and the Lucille Searcy Sunday School Class.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy Watson Rackley of the home; one daughter, Mrs Steven R. (Susan) Bowen of Anderson; three grandchildren, Mrs. Rob (Stephanie) Allen of Powdersville, Miss Jennifer Bowen of Anderson and William Ray (Bill) Bowen of Greenwood; one great-grandson, Zachary Allen; four sisters, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Gambrell of Easley, Mrs. Faye Spearman, Mrs. Bobby (Libby) Howell, Mrs. Ted (Cynthia) Taylor of Greenville and his caregiver, Ms. Carol Griffith.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Donnie (Don) Rackley and Larry Rackley and a sister, Carolyn Steele.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
