Pamela Watkins Powell, 56, went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2011, at Oconee Medical Center in Seneca.
Pam earned a degree from Anderson Junior College and worked for many years in Clemson University�??s Athletic Department as an Administrative Assistant. She was an avid Clemson fan and an active member of Pendleton First Baptist Church.
Pam was born in Greenwood County, SC and was the daughter of the late Lowell W. Watkins. She is survived by her mother, Kathryne Elledge Watkins; brother Barry Watkins and wife Jane, Gray Court, SC; sister Kathy W. Hettinger and husband Dwight, Greenville, SC; several nieces and nephews: Jody Watkins, Atlanta, GA; Jonathan Watkins, Fredricksburg, VA; Jeffrey Watkins, Clemson, SC; Lauri Hettinger, Alexandria, VA; Julie Hettinger Coates, Spartanburg, SC; and her beloved dog, Junior.
In addition to her father, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Tommy E. Powell.
A private committal service will take place prior to the memorial service which will be held on Thursday at Pendleton First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
