Pastor Steve Ellis

Pastor Stephen "Steve" Ellis, 63, husband of Renee Perry Ellis, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Born in Fayetteville, NC, he was a son of the late Muriel Ellis and the late Gertrude Martin Ellis. Steve was a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School, was the former owner and operator of The Carpenter's Servant and was formerly employed with Trust Homes. He was an active member of New Image Church where he served as the former Youth and Children's Pastor and served on the church board.
Steve was an avid Tar Heel fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his family dearly, but his greatest love was for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Steve will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of thirty-nine years, are his two daughters, Niki Alexander (Derrick), and Brittany Harris (Dustin), both of Liberty; his two brothers, William Ellis (Janice) of Autryville, NC., and Glenn Ellis of Fayetteville, NC; his three sisters, Dottie Hodges (Richard) of Hope Mills, NC, Brenda Slack (Clarence) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Virginia Boeshore (Marlin) of Grays Creek, NC; his mother and father-in-law, Laura Roper Mota and John Mota of Easley; his four grandchildren, Madison Alexander, Elliana Harris, Olivia Alexander, and Isaiah Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:30 PM Sunday, December 17, 2023 at New Image Church, 311 Anderson Highway, Easley, SC 29642. A private burial will follow in the Bethel Community Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:15 PM Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff members of Prisma Hospice and the Cancer Center of Greenville for the love and care they have provided for Pastor Steve.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the New Image Church Building Fund, 311 Anderson Highway, Easley, SC 29642.
