Patricia Ann Faulkner Collins

August 8, 1939 — June 5, 2021

"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." (Helen Keller)

Patricia Ann Faulkner Collins transitioned from an angel on earth to an angel in the heavenly realm on June 5, 2021. While our hearts ache for her presence, they are also filled with joy and compassion with which she left us.

Pat entered this world on August 8, 1939, first daughter born to Rogers and Francine Faulkner in Commerce, GA. Her sister, Martha, joined her two years later, creating a sisterhood like no other. They began their married lives in homes next to each other, and 17 years ago reunited in Easley, building homes side by side, where they quickly became known as "The Sistas". Their unflinching desire and willingness to help others was renowned, as was their uncanny ability to get lost, get in the wrong cars and laugh inappropriately. Their mission in life was to serve, and they did it well, with a heavy dose of joy and laughter thrown in for good measure.

Married to Gary for 62 years, Pat reveled in her role as wife and mother of Michelle, Anthony and Brock. She provided a safe and nourishing haven for her family, an inviting home for her children's friends, and enough inadvertently funny comments to last a lifetime. Employed for many years at BB&T, she last served as the lobby receptionist, a natural role for someone who so loved people and life. Other than her occasional inability to stay awake, she performed her job well and her colleagues adored her.

The epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman, she was "clothed in strength and dignity", laughed "at the days to come", spoke with "wisdom" and "faithful instruction", watched over her household, and was never, ever idle. Her children and husband most definitely called her blessed. She set the bar for righteousness and integrity and leaves behind a legacy of servitude and compassion. Her outward prettiness paled in comparison to her inner beauty, comprised of her love for her Lord and Savior, her family, and her friends.

She leaves behind her husband, Gary Anthony Collins, and her children, Martha Michelle Collins Page (Pete), and Gary Anthony Collins Jr., as well as five grandchildren: Harold Dean Pete Page III, Patrick Lee Page, Eleanor Austin Page, Julian Asher Collins and Thomas Royce Strange IV. Her son, Brock Duane Collins, predeceased her. In addition, she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Buddy Heath; sister-in-law, Gail Tollison; nephews, Court Heath and Chris Tollison (Stephanie); and niece, Heather Adams.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 30:30-31
