Patricia von Fischer Geldard,74, wife of John F. Geldard, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late William and Cordelia Thacker von Fischer. Pat was a 1965 graduate of DePauw University and earned a Masters Degree from University of Illinois in 1967. She was retired Speech Pathologist with Anderson-Oconee Speech and Hearing. She was a former president of the S.C. Speech and Hearing Association and earned their Service Award in 1983. She was an active volunteer with United Way, her church, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and with Family Promise. Pat loved cooking for her family, and sewing and crafts with community friends.
In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by her son, Stephen Howard (Jessica) Geldard of Seneca, SC; two daughters, Kathleen Cordelia (Bart Lawrence) Geldard of Hyattsville, MD and Amy Elizabeth (Sam Givens) Geldard of Belmont Abbey, NC; brother, David von Fischer of Columbus, OH; sister, Elizabeth Swenson, Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren, Molly and Anna Lawrence, Jackson and Amelia Geldard, Noah Johnson and Tiffany Givens.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Caroline Dulcie Geldard.
Memorial services will be 2 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parrish Hall of the church.
