Patricia Walker Wannamaker, PhD, 92, widow of John Murray Wannamaker passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Clemson Downs.
Pat was born in Bishopville, SC, a daughter of the late George E. and Eva Galloway Walker. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and earned her PhD from LSU. She was a longtime teacher at Clemson University and was the founder of the Language and International Trade Department at Clemson. She was a very active member of Trinity Wesleyan Church and loved to be involved with and teaching Bible Study.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol W. Shuler, M.D. and her husband, Charles of Seneca, SC, Anne Jones of Florida; grandchildren, Lauren Shuler, Diana Shuler, Allison Shuler, John Taylor and Stephen Taylor
In addition to her husband and parents, Pat was predeceased by a sister, Barbara VanderVeur.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Patricia Walker Wannamaker Scholarship Endowment at Clemson University. The first recipient Alexa McPhee was awarded in 2021.
The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
