Patrick DuPree Foster, 78, of 102 Medinah Drive, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Foothills Presbyterian Home.

Born in Easley, Mr. Foster was a son of the late Heyward Joseph and Lois Nalley Foster. Mr. Foster graduated from Easley High School and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at LSU and the University of Indiana. He worked with Home Savings and Loan, which merged with American Federal Bank. He started and was president of Finance South, Inc., and he left the banking business and started his own company, United Credit, Inc. in 1986 from which he retired in 2002. Mr. Foster was past president of the SC Financial Services Association and served the State of South Carolina with two terms on the Board of Financial Institutions.

He was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church where he belonged to the Seekers Adult Sunday School Class. He volunteered for Meals On Wheels. An avid Clemson Football fan and IPTAY member for many years, he attended all the home games. He was a US Army Veteran, having served his country as a cryptographer in France during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Linda McCrary Foster of the home; four sons, Dr. Mark D. Foster (Lynne), and Jonathan Foster (Margaret) all of Easley, Richard Foster (Laura), of Athens, GA, Chase Foster (Cindy) of Fort Mill, SC; two step-children, Brantlee Pruett (Tony) and CW3 Bayne Parsons (Grace); seven grandchildren, Harrison, Emily, Caroline, William, Samuel, Jacob and Luke; and two step-grandchildren, Noah Pruett and Will Parsons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Foster was predeceased by his first wife, Frances "Fran" Carman Foster; a brother, Joseph; and by a granddaughter, Carman Foster.

Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Escort of Honor will be the Seekers Adult Sunday School Class. A private committal will follow the service.

Visitation will be from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Easley Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 200 South First Street, Easley, SC 29640 or Foothills Presbyterian Communities, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, SC 29642.
