Patsy S. Richey, 80, of 408 Herringbone Run, wife of Jimmy Richey, entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, January 30, 2015.

Born in Cherokee County, SC, Mrs. Richey was a daughter of the late Marvin Allen and Clara Vassey Starnes. A retired teacher, she graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and earned her Master Degrees in English and History from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Mrs. Richey was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church and of the Willing Workers Sunday School class. She loved her family, traveling, reading and participating in the Precept Bible Study.

Surviving in addition to her husband of fifty-five years are her two daughters, Jane Daniel (Robert) of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Anne Williams (Dan) of Kings Mountain, NC, two granddaughters, Claire Lanz (Ben) of Greenville, SC and Bailey Williams of Kings Mountain, NC, and one great-granddaughter, Hannah Jane Lanz of Greenville, SC. She also leaves behind her loving sibling Frieda Moore of Alexandria, VA. She was predeceased in death by her parents, sisters, Hyma Cable and Joyce Hines and brother, Joe Starnes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer and Rev. Rodney Graham. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:15 AM Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Family members would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Hospice House of Anderson, SC, specifically Anna Childers and Kristie Mahaffey for their compassionate care.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 100 Clay St., Easley, SC 29642.
