Patsy M. Tripp
- Powdersville, SC
Patsy Ruth Murphy Tripp, 79, formerly of 205 Powdersville Main, widow of James Larry Tripp, went home to be with the Lord after a period of declining health, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Stephen Riddle.
A South Carolina native, where she was born in Laurens County on February 8, 1929, Patsy was a daughter of the late Edgar Martin and Pallie Woodson Murphy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Emma Agnes Murphy Holland; and her brothers, Charles Woodson (C.W.) Murphy and Edgar Martin (Buddy) Murphy, Jr.
Mrs. Tripp was a graduate of Easley High School and attended Furman University. She retired from Easley High School and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, where she was a member of "The Faithful Workers Sunday School Class."
Her family was her passion. She took great joy in her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments and loved to share pictures and updates about them with anyone that would listen. Mother loved her God and her church, which was evident in her faithfulness and the way she lived her life. Mother also loved flowers and birds. She spent many hours watching her birdfeeders and our trips around town were often planned, not with the most direct route, but with ones that took us by beautiful flowers and other vistas.
Surviving are three daughters, Lynn T. Moore and her husband, R.C., of Piedmont, Joan T. Clinger, and her husband, Eric, of Trenton, Ohio and Patti T. Riddle and her husband, Stephen, of Easley; six grandchildren, Matthew Tripp Reasner, of Las Vegas, NV, Lauren Elizabeth Reasner, of Easley, Cody Ellis Riddle, of Clemson, Haley Margaret Riddle, of Easley, Robert C. Moore, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, and Scott Emory Moore of Greer. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Barbara Murphy Hughes (Mike); William (Bill) Murphy, Susan Murphy Fant (Alan), Ruth Holland Moye (Jerry), Johnny Holland (Judy), Mary Ann Burdette (Bill) and David Holland.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Faithful Workers Sunday School Class as well as her Easley High School Coworkers will serve as honorary escort.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would especially like to thank her caregivers Michelle Galloway, Tammy Reed, Cynthia Roach, Betty Fisher and Betty Milam. These wonderful ladies loved and cared for our mother when we could not be with her.
Much thanks to the nurses and aids from Winyah Hospice, especially April, Paula and Sharon, who offered love and support during our mother's illness.
Floral arrangements are appreciated, but memorials may also be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or in person at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, which is assisting the family.
