Rev. Paul Hayes

The Rev. Paul Hayes, 90, formerly of Mae Street, Liberty, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Flesher's Health Care Center, Fairview, N.C.
Rev. Hayes was born in Pickens County, the son of the late John Richard and Ollie Jane Lesley Hayes. He attended North Greenville College and Furman University.
Rev. Hayes was a member of Liberty First Baptist Church and was a retired Baptist minister, having served for 62 years at churches in Anderson, Oconee, Pickens and Spartanburg counties.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Christine Holladay Hayes of Flesher's Health Care Center, Fairview, N.C.; a daughter, Bobry Jackson, and her husband, George, of Liberty; and a son, Sam Hayes, and his wife, Gail, of Liberty. Also surviving are two sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Dacusville and Mae Durham of Liberty; five grandchildren, Joy Jackson Emery and her husband, Chris, Dennis Jackson and his wife, Angie, Randy Pelfrey and his wife, Cindy, Robbie Pelfrey and his wife, Priscilla, and Rodney Hayes and his wife, Jennifer; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Hayes was predeceased by three brothers, Allen, Bennett and Leo Hayes, and a sister, Ressie Smith.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Liberty First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Hayes Jr. and Dr. Lonnie Shull officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
The family will be at their respective homes.
