Paul W. Kennedy, Jr., 91, of Easley, South Carolina, husband of the late Sylvia Lanier Kennedy, passed away on November 21, 2025.
Born in Duplin County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Paul W. Kennedy, Sr., and Ruth Wilkins Kennedy. Paul worked for 21 years as a welder at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he became known for his skill and craftsmanship, doing work for the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Marines. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Paul was known for his warm and loving personality. He found great fulfillment in his faith as a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church, where he fostered relationships and shared his love for the Lord. In his leisure time, Paul enjoyed fishing, a pastime that offered him peace and serenity. Paul W. Kennedy will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his contributions to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Paul is survived by his loving daughter, Kathy Lyda (Jim) ; his nephew, Arnold Futrell; his neighbor, Bentlee Hudson; as well as his four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Floyd Kennedy, and his sister Janet Cox.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Reflection, Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
