Dr. H. Paul Mahin, 97, of Clemson and widower of Carrie Gaddis Mahin, died Monday, February 17, 2014 in Clemson, SC.
Born in Canova, SD, Dr. Mahin was a son of the Dr. Francis Milton Mahin and Margaret Elizabeth Tangeman. In 1943 he entered the Navy Medical Corps where he served until 1975. He specialized in general surgery, achieved the rank of Rear Admiral, commanded four Naval Hospitals, and was the Medical Inspector General. Harry Paul Mahin: doctor, teacher, naval officer, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.
Surviving are two sons Patrick of Minneapolis, MN and Michael of Washington, DC, 4 granddaughters, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Old Stone Church Cemetery in Clemson, SC. A Memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson.
