Paul J. Mize,79, of Easley, SC, a man who touched many hearts, left this world on May 27, 2023. Paul was a successful builder and the proud owner of PJ Mize and Company. He built homes and commercial properties with perfection and dedication. His philanthropic spirit made him an unforgettable boss. He took care of his employees like family. His generosity extended beyond his work life.
Born on May 13, 1944, in Anderson County, SC, Paul spent four years in the Army serving his country with pride in Germany. He also learned plumbing during his service. His military experience added values to his generosity towards society.
Paul had a charming personality- he never met a stranger and loved conversing with people he met. Waitresses, acquaintances, or anyone else he came across were treated equally with respect and kindness.
Outside of work, Paul was active in Masons’ projects which gave him an opportunity to make lifelong friends. Gradually his engaging personality made him the most popular personality in the lodge.
Paul was a loving grandpa who comforted you in times of need; however strict your parents were; he would always be there to spoil you as a grandparent should. His grandchildren Houston and Morgan and Kindall brought him immense joy that filled his heart with happiness and pride.
Paul peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on May 27, 2023, in Easley, SC. He is reunited with his parents- Paul Ellis Mize and Eula Mae Mize- that preceded him in death. His wife Patsy Mize survives him alongside their son Brian Warren Mize (Tammy) and daughter Paula Mize Lee (David). His grandchildren Houston Mize, Morgan Lesley, and Kindall Mize; great-grandchildren Grayden Gosnell, Grayson Street, & Scarlett Bennefield also survive him along with two sisters Linda Faye Powell & Cheryl Caldwell.
Paul's legacy will live forever through the hearts of the many people he connected with throughout life and his great work ethic. His friends appreciated him for his wisdom, and his family loved him unconditionally for the lessons his life taught them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM with a service to start immediately after at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at 1425 Powdersville Road In Easley, SC.
