Paul E. Thomas, 87, went to be with His Lord on May 28, 2007. He was born the son of Benjamin and Annie Durig Thomas on March 17, 1920 in New Martinsville, WV. In 1941 he married Madelyn Gorsuch and to this 66 year union was born 7 children. He lived in Niles, Ohio for many years before moving to South Carolina in 1989.

He served as a 1st Lt. in the Army Medical Corps in World War II from 1942-1945, making 7 trips across the Atlantic Ocean bringing troops back from Europe.

He is survived by his wife; son, Ralph Thomas and wife Phyllis of Warren, OH; daughters, Rebecca Wade and husband Bob of Mt. Dora, FL, Linda Jamieson and husband, John of Ontario, Canada, Marilyn Henneman and husband, Dennis of Toccoa, GA, Susan Gray and husband, Dave of Medford, OR, and Kathryn Wade and husband, Dave of Wickenburg, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, James and a brother and 2 sisters.

For many years he was a dedicated Sunday School teacher/Bible teacher in the Niles Wesleyan Methodist Church. After retiring as an estimator/draftsman from Ace Lumber Company, he and Madelyn enjoyed traveling the US spending the last 19 years in Easley, SC.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
