Paul Jerome Wilkerson entered the arms of his Savior in Greenville, SC on 6/30/2017 following a heart attack at the age of 71.
Jerome is survived by his loving wife Vickie Diane Wilkerson, sons Dr. Brent J Wilkerson (Calah M Wilkerson) and David R Wilkerson (A. Michelle Wilkerson) of Greenville, SC, grandchildren Shane Wilkerson, Cullen Wilkerson, Rylie Wilkerson, Owen Wilkerson, Tyler Wilkerson, Emmet Wilkerson, and sister in law Debra Ringstad and her children Aaron Massengale and Ryan Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul Tyson Wilkerson and Annie Lee Tapp and grandsons Jonathan David and Sean Paul Wilkerson.
Jerome was born on May 31, 1946 in Mebane, NC to Paul Tyson Wilkerson and Annie Lee Tapp. He graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Science in Humanities in 1969. He married Vickie Diane Ringstad, the love of his life, in Oct 11, 1969. The couple moved to Greenville, SC to open Hearing Healthcare Center in 1987, where he continued to work until he passed away. Paul and Vickie welcomed 2 children into their home, Brent and David Wilkerson. Brent and David remember their father as a kind, loving, gentle, patient, hard-working father who encouraged them grow up to be godly men and pursue their goals for the glory of God. The Grandchildren remember him for the fun times in the pool and being chased around the house and couch.
Jerome was accomplished at assisting the hearing impaired of the upstate beginning in 1987 at Hearing Healthcare Center. Being hearing impaired himself he had a unique passionate perspective on hearing loss and his patients loved him for his patience, passion, kindness, and virtue. He regularly attended Morningside Baptist Church of Greenville, SC.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, July 3 at 11 am at Robinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the service. The family will receive friends 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerome's life and love for his Savior, his spouse, his children and grand children.
The family would like to thank the Physicians and Nurses at the Cardiac Care Unit in Greenville Memorial Hospital, particularly Dr. Parker, Dr. Henderson, Nurses' Karen, Tim, and Angela for their efforts, care, and dedication.
