Pearl Ada Caldwell Cranford, 96, of Central passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Sterling House of Central.
She was born on May 30., 1918 in Lincoln County, NC. She was known in Central for her work with the Brownie Scouts, girl's softball, Helping Hands and as a Sunday School Teacher, nursery worker and youth leader at Central First Baptist Church. She was also a major supporter for her son's JRROTC at Daniel High School. She was an avid baker and seamstress and her breads, cakes and sweets were well known. She also made dolls and toys for many children in the Central area.
She is survived by her 5 children, Frances "Punky" Morgan (Charlie) of Kannapolis, NC, Jesse A. "Sonny" Cranford of Central, Betty Christian (Chris) of Palm Coast, FL, Lucy Arthur of Central and Tamara Sterling (Patrick) of Central; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Jesse A. Cranford, Sr.; her parents, Bertie Lee Caldwell and Leola Frances Schronce Caldwell; 8 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with interment following at Memory Gardens in Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 PM, Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
