Pearl Wardlaw Pelt, 87, formerly of Old Liberty Road, wife of the late William Howard Pelt, Sr., passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Regency Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Jerome and Irene Smith Wardlaw, Mrs. Pelt was a homemaker and a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, William Howard Pelt, Jr. (Debbie) of Easley; James Floyd (Jean) of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Darlene Stoddard of Athol, MA; a brother, J.C. Wardlaw; and seven grandchildren, Mitzi Burgess, Jamie Floyd, Anthony Shannon Floyd, Joseph Lynn Floyd, Sherry Hodnett, Sharon Roberts, Michael Malpass, and Patrick Stoddard. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Pelt was predeceased by a granddaughter; Sandy Hamby; a grandson, Marty Stone; four brothers, Walter Jerone Wardlaw, Joseph Lawrence Wardlaw, EddieWardlaw and her twin brother, Earl Wardlaw; and by a sister, Effie W. May.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
