Peggy Gibson

Peggy Jean Freeman Gibson, 82, beloved wife of Harold "Vernon" Gibson, went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2020.
Born in Pickens, a daughter of the late James Freeman and Mary Elizabeth Brooks Freeman, she was a hardworking seamstress at Kent Incorporated for many years before enjoying her retirement. She loved her family deeply, enjoyed crocheting and in her younger years, traveling with her husband in a Model T. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of over 65 years, Peggy is survived by her daughter, Wanda Lou Gibson of Easley; sister, Sandra Gillespie (Dan) of Easley; grandchildren, Shannon Lecroy (Ben) of Pickens, Jamie Owens (Lesley) of Easley; and six great-grandchildren, Kane Owens, Lauren McGaha, Rebecca Lecroy, Hannah Owens, Kolby Owens, and Aurora Owens.
She is predeceased by her parents and brother, James Eugene Freeman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30PM on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Westview Cemetery in Easley. A lie in state will be held from 8:00AM - 12:00PM prior to the service.
Flowers are accepted and the daughter is residing at the family home.
