Peggy Joyce McCorkle, age 89, of Greenville, SC passed away at Greenville Memorial Hospital on April 28, 2024.
She was born on August 23, 1934, in Durham, NC the daughter of the late Herbert and Lola Pollock. Peggy gladly served beside her husband Bill as he pastored churches in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Michigan before going into missions. Together they traveled all over the world preaching and helping to spread the Gospel. In her mid-forties, Peggy went back to school to become a registered nurse. She was a much-loved nurse at Greenville Memorial for twenty years. Peggy’s sweet spirit, love, and prayers will be greatly missed by all those that had the privilege to know her. She repeated often on her final day, “we serve a great God”! She is now in the presence of Jesus, the God she faithfully loved and served.
She is survived by her son Jerry, daughter-in-law, Genie (Yearick) McCorkle, and son-in-law, Stan Means. She is also survived by five grandchildren (William McCorkle, Jared Means, Megan (Means) Sneed, Sarah (McCorkle) Vasques, and Joshua McCorkle,) and twelve great grandchildren (Levi McCorkle, Nora Sneed, Hattie Means, Victoria McCorkle, Harper Sneed, Jackson Means, Gabriel Vasques, Liam McCorkle, Andrew Vasques, Daniel Vasques, Caroline Means, and Penelope McCorkle.)
Peggy’s parents, three brothers, two sisters, her husband of seventy -one -years, Bill McCorkle, and daughter, Carol Sue Means, preceded her in death.
