Perla Pena, 97, of Easley, formerly of Miami, FL, passed peacefully with her daughter, Nanci, by her side Monday, January 23rd at her residence in Anderson County.
She was born in New York City, NY to the late Philip and Fenetta Dillon.
Perla was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church in Easley for 8 years. She worked for the United States Postal Service at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Perla enjoyed singing and keeping fit by dancing, traveling and taking remarkable care of her family, especially her grandson, Phil.
In addition to her parents, Perla was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Ross and Helen Mack, and the father of her children, Alejandro Pena. She was also preceded in death by her twin, Hazel Ann Dillon, who passed in 2011.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters, Nanci Ann Pena and Tanya Lynn Dukhie; brother, Royal Dillon; grandson, Phil Verbruggen.
Funeral service will be held Friday, January 27th at 3:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley with Reverend Maria Miller and Reverend Sean Miller officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Flowers are encouraged at the funeral home, and the family has requested donations be made directly to Lutheran Hospice, 429 N. Main Street, Suite 3, Greenville, SC 29601 or St. Matthias Lutheran Church, 501 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642, in memory of Perla.
