E.L. "Pete" Potter, III, 64, of 108 Hampton Road, husband of the late Mary Jane Peeler Potter, died Saturday, October 27, 2007, at his home.
Born in Burlington, Iowa, he was a son of the late E.L. Potter, II and Irene H. Potter. Mr. Potter received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University and worked as a mechanical engineer for Ryobi in Anderson.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Potter Jones and her husband, Larry, of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Elizabeth Westgarth-Taylor and her husband, Colin, of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Mary Potter Morris of Charlotte, NC; and three grandchildren, Dillon Reed Jones, Margaret Elizabeth Jones, and Andrew Ross Wesgarth-Taylor. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Potter was preceded in death by a sister, Katharine Marie Potter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Charlotte, NC with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Harry and Bryant Company, Charlotte, NC.
