Peter Lynn Davies, 63, of 105 Stonegate Drive, husband of Janis B. Davies, died suddenly, August 2, 2012 while working at the Anderson home of Julie Ibrahim, local owner of Tiger Sports Shop, Clemson.
Born in Utica, NY, on May 9, 1949, he was a smart, creative energetic individual who kept busy doing something all the time.
He lived in England, Utica, NY, Scarsdale, NY and Briarcliff Manor, NY and Alabama during his childhood before graduating from Ossining High School in 1969.
Mr. Davies was a proud Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, serving 1969-1971. After his discharge, for several years he was the owner of a True Value Hardware store in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY before moving to Cape Coral, FL and finally Seneca in 1997. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He enjoyed entertaining friends and family, gourmet cooking, reading, cultural/historical venues, helping others and traveled extensively. He was an excellent husband, father, sibling and friend. Always willing to help anyone in need. He will be terribly missed by all those whose life he touched, especially his wife, sons, brothers, family members and those that considered him a friend.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Janis are his two sons, Tyler Lynn Davies and Jeremy Lloyd Davies. Also surviving are his brothers, Stephen R. Davies (Judy) of Franklin, TN, Philip L. Davies (Candy) of Seneca; sister, Cynthia E. (Cindy) Davies of Clemson, SC; former sister-in-law, Sherry West Davies of Queensbury, NY; three nieces, Stephanie Davies Dickinson (Matt), Janie Davies Fitzgerald (Patrick), Rachel Davies Hohman (Thomas); two nephews, Scott Daniel Davies (Kelly) and Daniel Lloyd Davies (Dena); nine great nieces and nephews, Kathryn Sue Davies, Emma Bay Dickinson, Seth D. Davies, Samantha Davies, Shaelyn Fitzgerald, Torin L. Davies, Nathan Hohman, Taylor Dena Davies, and Maxwell L. Hohman.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM till 12:45 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home.
