Philip L. Davies, 70, of 237 Morningside Heights Dr. and husband of Candy Preston Davies, quietly passed away Saturday Morning at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC.
Born in Utica, NY, Philip was a son of the late Arvon and Billie McMachan Davies. He was a self-employed contractor and fine craftsman, and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a resident of Queensbury, NY from 1967 until 1986.
He served the North Queensbury Fire Department as an active volunteer firefighter and was an assistant chief for several years.
Surviving in additon to his wife of the home are his son, Daniel (Dena) Davies of Queensbury, NY; daughters, Janie (Patrick) Fitzgerald of Westchester, NY and Rachel (Thomas) Hohman of Queensbury, NY; step-daughters, Leigh Richey of Six Mile, SC, Polly Gossett of Central, SC and Joy Veal of Seneca, SC; brother, Steve Davies of TN; sister, Cindy Davies of Clemson, SC; grandchildren, Torin Davies, Taylor Davies, Shaelyn Fitzgerald, Nathan Davies-Hohman and Maxwell Davies-Hohman.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Peter Davies.
Memorial services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a local veteran's group or a local animal protection service.
