Phillis Blackstone Hughey, 71, of Easley, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Joyce Lawhorne Blackstone and the late Robert Blackstone. Phillis was a proud graduate of Wren High School, a stepping stone that propelled her into a life filled with purpose and passion. She owned and operated Tri-State Watercraft Collision, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Phillis was known by her family as “Mimi,” a title that encapsulated her nurturing spirit and her boundless love for her family, particularly her grandchildren. She relished every moment spent with them, never missing one of her grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines. An adventurous soul, Phillis found joy in the great outdoors, particularly when camping at the lake, a favorite pastime that brought her much happiness. She had a talent for cooking that was unmatched; her cubed steak became a family favorite, often requested and eagerly anticipated by all who gathered around her table.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Jason Hughey (Katy Bethea); a daughter, Allison Hughey Isbell (Shane); a brother, David Blackstone; a sister, Peggy Davis (Randy); two grandchildren, Owen Hughey, and Reagan Isbell; and a daughter-in-law, Kristy Johnson.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Heron.
