Phyllis Elaine Williams, 82, of Sugar Hill, GA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and adventurer, passed away on August 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Andrew and Faye Peterson, Phyllis embodied a spirit of curiosity and wanderlust that defined her life.
Phyllis's journey truly began when she met her husband, Ron, at a Boys and Girls Scouts gathering in their youth. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful marriage filled with laughter, companionship, and shared adventures. Together, they traversed the globe for decades as Ron's job took them to far-flung corners of the world. From bustling cities to serene countryside, Phyllis embraced each new experience with open arms and a fearless heart.
A woman of many talents and passions, Phyllis was known for her adventurous soul and deep love for her family. Her daughters held a special place in her heart, and she loved them in a multitude of ways. In addition to her roles as wife and mother, Phyllis found joy in exploring the world around her through travel. She witnessed sights that most only dream of seeing, collecting memories like precious treasures along the way.
In quieter moments, Phyllis found solace in her hobbies and interests. Whether she was crocheting intricate patterns, knitting cozy scarves, cross-stitching colorful designs, or creating beautiful needlepoint pieces, her hands were always busy creating beauty. Her generosity extended to those in need as she crafted prayer shawls to comfort the sick in local hospitals. Phyllis also found peace and purpose in walking, a passion that led her to complete the Walk Across America program.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, René Elaine Plaisance, Andrea Louise Roberts and Denise Elizabeth Austin (Decklin) as well as her grandchildren, Mitchell Williams Roberts (Elizabeth) and Morgan Ashley Roberts (Corey Gallian).
She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Charles Williams, her parents, Andrew and Faye Peterson, her son-in-law Christopher Stephen Roberts, and her siblings Larry Peterson and Sydell Smith.
There are no services planned at this time. Instead, the family asks that in memory of Phyllis you please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.
