Polly Pepper Martin

Polly Pepper Martin, 97, wife of the late Robert Hamilton Martin, Sr. of Easley, died Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Born in Easley, she was a daughter of the late Enoch Sheriff and Laura Parrish Pepper.

Polly received her Associate’s Degree from Columbia College and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville for 65 years, where she attended the Agape Sunday School Class and formerly served as president of the Women of the Church.

She also loved traveling; whether it was spending time at the beach, camping in the mountains with her son, or her numerous travels to Europe, she enjoyed experiencing new places and the beauty of the world around her.

Surviving are her son, Robert H. Martin, Jr. (Deborah) of Easley; four grandchildren, Rebekah Lindsey Lanier (Michael), David William Martin (Leia), Abigail Rose Martin, and Miriam Elizabeth Martin; one great-grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved them all dearly.

In addition to her loving husband of 45 years, Polly is predeceased by her brother, Horace C. Pepper; and her sister, Jean P. Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Foothills Presbyterian Community Chapel. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Easley.
