On September 3, 2022 Alice J. “Polly” Peters, widow of Norman Peters, passed away peacefully in Clemson, South Carolina. 

 

Born Alice J. Jamieson on January 16, 1928 in Ottawa Illinois to Hoyland M. Norrick Jamieson and William H. Jamieson, MD, Polly spent the first 57 years of her life in Illinois working and raising her family.  Throughout her life, Polly was active in her church and local charities.    

 

Polly and her husband Norm retired to Salem, South Carolina in 1987, living in Keowee Key.  In retirement Polly enjoyed traveling, shuffleboard, cards, golf, and spending as much time as was possible with her grandkids.  To all that knew her, she was kind, caring, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. 

 

Polly is survived by her two sons, William Peters of Durango, Colorado and his wife, Pilar Lotero Peters, and Daniel Peters of Naples, Florida and his wife, Deborah Dworzynski Peters; five grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents Polly was predeceased in 2003 by her husband Norman V. Peters whom she married in 1949.

 

Services will be private for the family.
