R. G. Kelly, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Kelly was born in Central and was a son of the late Marvin and Lexie Smith Kelly.  He worked in the textile industry, was owner of a restaurant and a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.  He loved gardening, hunting and fishing, but most of all loved God and his family.

Surviving are his wife of sixty six and one half years, Wilma Gossett Kelly; three sons, Robert Kelly of Central, Dan Kelly (Donna) of NC, and Steve Kelly (Phyllis) of Walhalla; one daughter, Diane Freeman of Daytona Beach, FL; three brothers, Alton, Joe and Jack Kelly; eight grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
