Rachel Stone English

April 18, 1931 — January 16, 2021

Rachel Stone English, 89, widow of Waymon Avery English passed away peacefully Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born in Oconee County April 18, 1931 a daughter of Ed and Maude Holbrooks Stone.

Rachel worked for many years as a seamstress in the textile mills. After retiring she worked at Family Dollar, until she was 80 years old. Rachel was a wonderful baker and loved creating specialties for her family and friends.

Rachel is survived by her son, Mike Sheppard and his wife Deborah of Laurens; a daughter-in-law, Joan Sheppard of Greenville; two sisters, Betty and Barbara; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Waymon, Rachel was predeceased by a son, John Sheppard; two daughters, Connie Sue Cintron and Phyllis J. Sheppard; two brothers, Lawrence, and Harold; and four sisters, Earlene, Pat, Lucy, and Edna.

Graveside services will be 3 PM Wednesday, January 20th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:15PM prior to the service at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central.
