Rachel Dempsey Nation

Rachel D. Nation, 89, of Stockbridge, GA, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Thomas C. Nation.

Born in Anderson County, SC, Mrs. Nation was the daughter of the late Andrew and Ellen Dempsey. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was centered on family, faith, and service to others.

Mrs. Nation enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, shopping, and traveling around the world with her dear friend Jane. Above all, she cherished caring for her family. A woman of strong faith, she was of the Baptist faith and found joy in helping those in need. She also faithfully served the Coffee County Medical Auxiliary for many years.

She is survived by her son, Terry D. Nation and his wife Deanna of Central, SC; her grandson, Austin Bolding of Pendleton, SC; and several loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Nation was preceded in death by her siblings: Ralph Dempsey of San Antonio, TX; Broadus A Dempsey of St. Simons, GA; Betty Gause of Summerville, SC; and Mary Bruce of Macon, GA.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
