Ralph E. Bass, Sr.

Ralph Edward Bass, Sr., loving husband to the late Mary Walden Bass for seventy five wonderful years, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018, at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Charlotte, NC, a son to the late Robert Norman Bass and the late Beatrice Eubanks Bass, he was a cherished member of Northside United Methodist Church and a US Army veteran who served under General George S. Patton. Mr. Bass also received a Purple Heart for his bravery in combat.
Surviving are a son, Ralph Edward Bass, Jr. (Carol) of Fountain Inn, SC; a sister, Faye Holden of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Ralph E. Bass, III of Simpsonville, SC, Cheri Bass Burress (David) of Simpsonville, SC, Robert E. Bass (Allison) of Fountain Inn, SC, and Carla Bass Loper (Bennie) of Simpsonville, SC; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bass was predeceased by a grandson, Roger Bass.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Entombment will follow at the Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 2:45 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or an animal rescue charity of one's choosing.
