Billy Ralph Stansell, 80, of Summer Street, went home to be with his Heavenly Father Monday, August 10, 2015.

Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Abner and Grethel Cantrell Stansell.

Mr. Stansell was the owner of Stansell Construction in Easley and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. He also served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. He was a Gideon and traveled the world building churches and serving his Lord and Savior through missions.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Sue Landreth Stansell of the home; daughters, Sherri Bailey of Shadyside, MD, Debbie Owens of Columbia, Rebecca Stansell of Mars Hill, NC, Tammi McBride of Fairplay and Charlotte Sapp of Easley; sons, Randall Stansell of Irmo, Michael Stansell of Greenville, Richard Mahaffey and Nigel Mahaffey both of Columbia, Kenneth Crain of Hickory Tavern and Sammy King of Powdersville; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Olive Surratt of Easley, Ellen Sponsler of Easley and Linda Davis of Mauldin; and brothers, Mack Stansell of Easley and Wade Stansell of California.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife, Peggy Wilson Stansell; sons, Billy Stansell and Tony Mahaffey; a daughter, Brenda DuVall; sisters, Lucille Smith and Helen Owen; and a brother, Carl Stansell.

A service to celebrate Ralph's life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Brushy Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the church sanctuary.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Gideons International 1000 S. Pendleton Street Easley, SC or to Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 100 Clay Street Easley, SC 29642.

The family will be at the home.
