Marion Ray Carman, 57, of 311 Oak Lane, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Hospice House of Anderson.

Born in Easley, he was the son of Doris Jones Turner of Easley and the late Joe Carman. He was a graduate of Easley High School and an assistant manager of Bi-Lo in Downtown Easley. Mr. Carman was a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of a Purple Heart. He attended Fellowship Community Church and was a member of the Gold Prospectors Club.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his step-father, Claude Turner of Easley; a son, Jermain Carman and wife Brooke of Liberty; a daughter, Anesha Smith and husband Allen, Sr. of Liberty; a sister, Sharon Kay of Pickens; and two grandchildren, Brianna Carman and Allen "A.J." Smith, Jr. In additon to his father, he was predeceased by his wife, Jan Nanette Harris Carman.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverends Rudy Jones, Clark Ford, Archie Sharpe, and Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of his daughter, 605 Anderson Drive; Liberty, SC 29657.
