Ray Allen Gaffin, Sr., 74, formerly of Liberty, died Saturday November 15, 2008.
Mr. Gaffin was born in Muskegon, Michigan, a son of the late Roy William and Florence Johns Gaffin. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Ray A. Gaffin, Jr., of Easley and Danny Lee Gaffin, of Six Mile ; three daughters, Patricia A. Heard (David), of Marshall, Texas, Sharon Sue Britton (Mike), of Ovilla, Texas and Pamela Jean McElrath (Rusty), of Liberty ; brothers, Sam Gaffin, of West Palm Beach, Florida and Paul Gaffin, of Highlands, Ohio ; a sister, Martha Gaffin, of Fayetteville, N.C. ; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Ruth Stephens Gaffin and a son, James W. Shirley.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with the Reverend Howard Foster officiating.
