Easley
Ray Earl Jones, 90, of Easley, husband of the late Frances Nix Jones, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Greenville, a son of the late Walter H. Jones, Sr., and the late Azalia King Jones, Mr. Jones retired from the US Army where he was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. After his years with the Army, he worked for Ryobi Company. Mr. Jones was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and also a member of Bates Masonic Lodge #189.
Surviving are three sons, David Jones, Jeffrey Jones and Frederick "Rick" Jones; two daughters, Michelle Bridges and Suzanne R. Jones; a sister, Jewel Gilstrap; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a special friend Annie Belle Evans. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Jones was predeceased by two brothers, Walter H. Jones, Jr. and Kenneth P. Jones and one sister, Dora Doris Jones.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday November 7, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
