Alfred Ray Rill, 64, of 110 Ina Marie Lane, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital.

Mr. Rill was born in Webb City, Missouri, a son of the late William "Bud" A. and Anna Louise Shipley Rill. Mr. Rill retired from a 26 year career in the U.S. Navy which included service in the Korean War, Viet Nam and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later retired as an instructor from Lockheed Martin in Greenville. He was a member of Crosswell First Baptist Church, Gideon's International and Campers on a Mission.

Surviving are his wife, Carmen Viruet Rill, of the home ; two sons, Fred Rill and his wife, Danielle, of Lyman, SC and Ismael Rill, of Panama City, Florida ; two daughters, Carmen L. Acorn, and her husband, David, of Powdersville and Connie Weninger, and her husband, Craig, of Greer, SC ; sisters, Marie Clark, and her husband, Harvey, of Columbus, Kansas and Edith Clark, and her husband, Norman, of Des Moines, Iowa ; a brother, William A. Rill and his wife, Lois, of Topeka, Kansas and 9 grandchildren.

Funeral Services with military honors will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Crosswell First Baptist Church with the Reverend Randy Smith officiating. Cremation will follow with the cremains scattered at sea by the U.S. Navy at a later date.

Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, prior to the service.
