Raymond B. Cook

Raymond Benjamin Cook, 63, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 after a one year brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Greenville, a son of the late Raymond B. and Mildred Merck Cook, Mr. Cook was employed with Ortec, Inc., and was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church where he belonged to the Obedient Followers Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Reeves Cook of the home; two sons, Kenny Allen Cook (Heather) of Easley and Benji Cook (Sherry) of Travelers Rest; a brother, William C. Cook of Orangeburg; two sisters, Jane Boggs of Pendleton and Sue Whitten of Inman; and seven grandchildren, Caleb Cook, Mikala Robinson, Sydney Cook, Kameryn Cook, Destinee Cook, Kinsley Cook and Dylan Cook.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at East Pickens Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Duncan and Larry Brotherton officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Employees of Ortec, Inc. and members of the Obedient Followers Sunday School Class are asked to serve as Honorary Escorts.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday and will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM Saturday.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Cancers Centers of the Carolinas and to the employees of Ortec for the love and support they gave to Raymond.
