Raymond E. Long
Easley
Raymond Edward Long, 91, of 116 Baldwin Place, formerly of Antioch Road, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at R.M. Campbell Veterans Center.
Born in Greenville, a son of the late John L. and Willie Camilla Wilson Long, Mr. Long retired from the food brokerage business and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, Vernelle Anthony Long of the home; three sons, Raymond Edward Long, Jr., of Greenville, Donald Lockee (Patricia) of Easley and David Lockee (Crystal) of Easley; a daughter, Linda Long Christopher (Phil) of Campobello; two grandsons, Matthew Lockee and Joseph Lockee (Jessica) and eight Great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Long was predeceased by a brother, Jack C. Long.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
