Raymond Thomas (Red) Taylor, 82, of 111 Evergreen Drive died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC.

Born in Central, he was a son of the late Raymond T. and Alice L. Taylor. Red was former owner and operator of Taylors Grocery and later Taylors Food and Spirits in Clemson. He was a member of the American Legion Post 121 in Central and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his adopted nephew, Jimmy Childress of Easley; adopted niece, Louise Hayes of Austin, TX; and nephews, Bobby Carver of Liberty and John Taylor of Santee, SC.

Red was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Ruby Ledford Taylor; brother, Minor Taylor of Orangeburg; and sister, Agnes Carver of Central.

Graveside services will be 11 AM, Friday, at Memory Gardens in Clemson with Rev. Ray Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.
