Reba (Tom) Ellenburg
Easley
Reba Grace Deck Ellenburg, wife of the late Sherwood Ellenburg, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at An Med Health Center, after a brief illness.
She was born August 4, 1926 to the late Grady and Bessie Jordan Deck of Pelzer. She graduated from Pelzer High School and Draughon's Business College. After graduation, she worked at Rhodes Furniture in Easley, from 1950-1962, at which time she joined her husband in the family business. When the family business closed in 1976, she returned to Rhodes Furniture in Greenville where she worked until Rhodes closed their stores in 2005.
Mrs. Ellenburg was a charter member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Rebecca Sunday School Class, where she had 44 years of perfect attendance.
Surviving are three children, Mickie Enlow, Debbie (Joe) Ellis, and Woody Ellenburg, all of Easley; three grandchildren, Samantha (Bryan) Blackston of Easley, Jobe (fiancee' Meghan Gasmovic) Ellis, both of Charlotte, NC and Elle Ellis of Easley; two great-granchildren, Caleb and Cutler Blackston, also of Easley; two sisters, Jean (Bill) Martin of Greenwood, and Willie (Bert) Garrison of Piedmont; a special longtime friend, Pearley Robinson, formerly of Easley. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry (Luvenia) Deck.
The family is at the home, 905 North A Street, Easley, SC 29640.
The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at Calvary Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
