Rebecca Floyd McCaskill, 94, of Clemson, wife of the late Wesley R. McCaskill, Sr., passed away March 8, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, NC, Becky was the daughter of the late Joseph Walker Floyd, III and Marian Earle Henderson Floyd.  She attended the University of North Carolina - Greensboro for two years before finishing her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.  She received her master’s degree from Clemson University.  Becky went on to a long and successful career as an elementary school teacher at first the Calhoun-Clemson School and then Morrison Elementary where she helped start the gifted and talented program for the fifth and sixth grades.  She was also a member of the Clemson United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 50 years.  Singing was such a joy to her, and she sang in many weddings, funerals, and chorales.  She was even one of the music leaders at the Little Church in the Wildwoods in Highlands, NC.   As a former member of the Clemson Garden Club, you could often find Becky enjoying her gardens and swapping plants with neighbors.  She lived her life to the fullest amongst her cherished family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianna Simmons and husband Neil of North Augusta, SC; son, Wes McCaskill and wife Felicia of Easley, SC; grandchildren, William Simmons, Austin McCaskill and wife Kendra, and Hunter McCaskill; great-grandchildren, Jordan Simmons and Elliott Simmons; step great-grandchild, Levi Bales.
