There was an angel in heaven who told God that there is a family in need of an angel. So, God sent that angel to find the perfect one and she needed to be beautiful inside and out, smart, a bundle of energy, kind, generous, loves more that she is loved, with a lot of class and just as much sass. After searching all over, one was found, and her name was Rebecca Lindsay Parham who came into this world on November 27, 1994.
Now, Rebecca was not the average angel, she had special gifts. She did things in her own special way. Come to find out God had blessed her with different abilities and ways to learn and look at the world. Her teachers from elementary to high school understood this and watched her go from a frustrated little girl who hated math to a 2013 D. W. Daniel High School Honors Graduate-who still hated math.
The years spent at Coker College was an amazing experience for her. Known as “Momma Goose”, she took care of her friends, and no problem was too big for her to help with. Her time there was spent with friends, roommates, professors and coaches whom she adored. If she was not at a Cross Country meet or on the basketball sidelines cheering, you could find her at the Boathouse, Shug’s, Mack’s, J-Mike’s, or Cookout doing what she did best-bringing her friends together to have fun. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in 2017.
He also told her that no hair is too big, no heel is too tall, spray tans are essential, and there can never be enough sparkle. So, with the help of her amazing pageant coach, Paula Norris, she embarked on an adventurous pageant career. It was filled with excitement, laughter and a deep love for her sister queens.
Another of her gifts was her love for her family. She loved her aunts and uncles, Jimmy and Angie, David and Tilde, J.D. and Belinda, Thomas and Khristy, and Liz and Rusty as if they were her own parents, sometimes more because they let her get away with more mischief than her mom and dad ever would. Her cousins were like the brothers and sisters she never had, and she loved them all, Zach, Abigail, Noah, Hannah, Joseph, Sarah, Lindsay, Emily, Gavin, Blythe, Wyatt, Dallas and Maddie. If you were ever looking for Rebecca, she was usually with Lindsay causing some sort of mischief and mayhem or keeping Gavin out of mischief and mayhem. She loved her grandparents, Charles and Virginia Teat and Sarah Parham so fiercely, because they too, let her get away with more than her parents would. She was the world to her parents, Herb and Cathy Parham. She filled their lives with plenty of love, laughter and head scratching moments. The phrase “seriously Becca?” was spoken with a raised eyebrow a lot in the Parham household.
She also loved her ServPro family. Brad Crowe, Jeff Kittle, Whitney Harris, Mr. Jeff and Ms. Charlotte, Ms. Teresa and everyone else were the source of endless stories and laughter. They were her second family. There was never a dull moment had by this group of people.
But when not at work or with family or friends, she could be found working on one of her many interests, gardening, house plants, working on her home, cooking (she was the ultimate foodie), watching Bob’s Burgers and Real Housewives. She also spent a lot of time with a special family, Susie, Taylor and her special “Tatum Tot”, their son Tatum. Whom she doted on every chance she got.
But, on March 30, 2022, God called his special angel home. But He made sure that she was met in Heaven by her Great Pepa (Herbert Parham), Pepa (Herbert Parham, Jr) and Great Uncle Mike (Mike Parham), along with her beloved pets, Cooper, Cotton and Issaqueena with hugs, “I love you’s” and a beer. The party will continue as she watches over us as the most “extra” Guardian Angel ever.
A Boujee-Redneck celebration of this special angel’s wonderful life will be held at a later date.
