Rebecca Hollis “Becky” Wolfe passed away on January 8, 2026 in Clemson, SC.
Becky was born in Rock Hill, SC to Dan S. Hollis, Jr. and Lovey Hollis. She was the oldest of 4 children. She always spoke fondly of her childhood and teen years with family in the area and escapades at Hollis Lakes. She attended the Winthrop Training School where she graduated with an Associate Degree and embarked upon a career in the Trust Department of a bank in Charlotte, NC. That banking career was interrupted when she married Jack Wolfe in 1955, and was replaced by a career of being a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother. She and Jack lived in Charlotte for 16 years before moving to the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody for the next 20 years. At Jack’s retirement they moved to be founding members of the Cliffs of Glassy development in Landrum, SC. Becky complemented Jack’s administrative activities by founding many social activities in their new community. They loved the friends they made in their 13 years on the mountain, many of them Becky continued to stay in contact with until her passing. When Jack got sick, they moved to Peachtree City, GA where she remained for 17 years after Jack passed. Becky’s neighborhood and church communities provided so much joy, support, and friendships; she loved and was dearly loved by the folks there. She moved to the Clemson area in 2024.
Becky had a number of interests. Besides her lake time, she loved doing the Carolina Shag at the SC coast. She took up golf for a while until she fell in love with tennis during her time in Atlanta. She was very active in the Atlanta ALTA tennis scene through Rivermont Country Club, until her knees started to give out. Her chief love, however, was music. All of her siblings were musically inclined; she loved singing with them whenever they gathered. She eagerly participated in her church choirs in Charlotte, Atlanta, Greer, and Peachtree City; these fellowships were the primary source of her spiritual and social connections. She was happiest when she was singing, even in her last days mouthing words to her favorite hymns in her room.
Becky is survived by her two sisters: Jane Jackson of Pinehurst, NC and Lynn Isgrig (Tom) of Cincinnati, OH; her 3 children: Ed (Laura) of Salem, SC, David of Covington, GA, and Ann of Covington, GA; her 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, in Rock Hill, SC. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
Memorials may be made In Becky’s honor to Hopewell United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 70, Tyrone, GA 30290 or Hopewell-umc.org.
