Reubenia Porter Smith, 79, of Easley, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, February 24, 2013.
Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late William Earl and Lizzie Durham Porter. She retired from Robinson Company with thirty years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church, Easley.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Smith; a son, Brad W. Smith (Lisa); two grandsons, Matt (Jamie), and Brandon Smith; one great-grandson, Grayson Smith; a sister, Allene Surrett of Easley; two brothers, Troy Porter (Sara) of Central, and Leland Porter (Virginia) of Easley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by a sister, Catherine Hughes Roberts.
She was blessed to have so many close friends and family who made her last days on earth very joyful.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to her doctors, Dr. Steven Freeman and Dr. John Cox, The Baptist Easley Hospital Staff, Interim Health Care Hospice and two special nurses, Kaylee Kilpatrick and Lucretia Myers, who is also a very special niece.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Easley. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the church narthex, prior to the service.
Flowers will be accepted, however in remembrance of Reubenia, donations may be made to Interim Health Care Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Ct., Duncan, SC 29334.
The family is at the residence.
