Buck married the love of his life, Ruby Lorene Earle in 1955 and they shared their lives, love, and ministry together for more than 68 years. He was a graduate of Central High School, Holmes Theological Seminary (BS, Sacred Literature), and earned his Master's of Pastoral Theology at the Church of God School of Theology at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Buck loved God, his family and music and they were all connected through his whole life. His musical passion was the steel guitar, but he played most string instruments including guitar, bass, mandolin and piano. He used music extensively in his ministry and enjoyed regularly jamming with friends until recently. He and Lorene loved to travel and made two cross country driving trips in addition to visits to Israel, Europe, Alaska, Canada and Mexico. He was generous with his time, his resources, his sense of humor and he loved to connect to people. He especially loved visits with his grandchildren. He loved western movies, Clemson football and the beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains.
