Donald Monroe Karns was born on May 2, 1930, in Evansville, Indiana a son of the late Rufus and Ruth Karns. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1948 and worked at Keller Crescent Printing for a time.
Donald was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Canterbury who he married June 2, 1953, and together they had four children. Rev. Karns ministered along with his wife in Clarksburg, Indiana, South Africa, Guyana, Liberia, and Zimbabwe. His life was his commitment to Missions.
Rev. Karns is survived by 4 children: Brenda Bagley and husband, Robert of Seneca SC, Don Karns and wife, Laura of Central, Sheryl Dennis and husband, Jeff of North Myrtle Beach, and John Karns and wife, Debbie of Walhalla; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Tracy, Mary Beth, Meredith, Kathryn, Charlsie, Charldon, and Meagan; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Cameron, Liesyl and Mabry.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at ALIVE Wesleyan Church, 136 Chastain Road, Central, SC 29630. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 AM until 10:50 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Westminster.
