Rev. James Madison Wilson, 88, husband of Virginia Setser Wilson, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Born in Knoxville, TN, a son of the late Clarence Addison Wilson and the late Pearl Ann Luntsford Wilson, Rev. Wilson was a graduate of Tennessee Temple University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree and was a retired Baptist minister from Grace Baptist Church in Waycross, GA. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Easley and was a US Army Veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of sixty-five years, are his son, James "Jim" Edward Wilson (Chris) of Easley; his daughter, Elaine Wilson Vaughn (Mitch) of Easley; his eight grandchildren, Karen V. Wood (Cassidy), Gilyen W. Vaughn (Alex), Nicole N. Vaughn, Jayda D. Vaughn, Lyndsey W. Emmons (Charlie), Caroline W. Tate (Camden), Claire A. Wilson, and James David Wilson; and his four great-grandchildren, Colton Wood, Tucker Wood, Elaine R. Vaughn, and Grady Wilson Tate. In addition to his parents, Rev. Wilson was predeceased by his brother, David Barton Wilson of Bryceville, FL.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. A private burial will follow in the M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
