Rev. Robert "Bo" Earl Trotter, 81, beloved husband of Evelyn Owens Trotter, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026. Born on June 29, 1945, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Berry Earl Trotter and the late Doris Ellen Powers Trotter. Bo’s journey was one marked by kindness, dedication, and a steadfast devotion to both family and community.

Bo’s roots ran deep in Easley, where he graduated from Easley High School and proudly played football, helping lead his team to a SC state championship in 1963. Athletic, spirited, and loyal, Bo’s early years molded him into the devoted family man and community figure he would become.

 He was a man of many accomplishments, particularly in the world of roller skating. He built a rink in Athens, GA, and was part owner of rinks in Douglasville and Warner Robbins in GA, three rinks in Mississippi, as well as Asheville, NC, Anderson, SC and locally, Skate-A-Round in Easley, SC. Bo gave countless people a place to gather, laugh, and make memories. His deep commitment to the sport and to the roller-skating community led him to serve as a board member and eventually President of the Roller Skating Association. His dedication was recognized with the distinguished operators award, induction into the association’s Hall of Fame, and ultimately being honored as a life member—a testament to the lasting legacy he created.

Though he achieved greatness in business, Bo answered his higher calling later in life, by receiving his minister’s license for the Church of God of Prophecy in 2007. Here, he discovered immense fulfillment pastoring in Seneca, Belton, Greer, and Inman, SC. His service continued as a district overseer—a role in which he touched countless lives and found solace and purpose in helping others and sharing his faith.

Bo’s talents and interests were as varied and joyful as his energy. Ever competitive, he took great pride in his animals—training prize winning show rabbits and raising homing pigeons. He enjoyed operating HAM radios and fishing in the great outdoors. He reveled in the camaraderie of entering car shows, the exhilaration of drag racing, and the quiet thrill of RC airplanes and cars. He also experienced great adventures while traveling in his motorhome across the US.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Jane Houston and her husband, Ron Houston and niece, Christy Sloan. The thought of the heavenly reunion he had with his family and friends brings peace and comfort to those who knew him.

At his core, Bo was above all a family man—a devoted husband, father, and cherished PawPaw to his grandchildren. His greatest joys came from the simple moments: laughter around a family table, the glow of pride for his sons Chris and Chip, and the unwavering love he shared with his wife, Evelyn.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by sons, Chris Trotter and Chip Trotter; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the Christian leader and rock of his family who will dearly miss him.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:15 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home, Powdersville Road, followed by his funeral service at 1:30 PM in the chapel. Burial will be held in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Home Health Care and Interim Hospice for the care and special attention given to Bo towards the end of his life.
