Six Mile

Richard “Ricky” John Black, 50, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, of natural causes at his home in Six Mile, SC.

Born at the Naval Academy Hospital in Annapolis, MD, he was the son of Brenda Aisquith Campbell and the late Harold Black.

Ricky was a free spirit who enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out with friends, listening to music, collecting tattoos, riding motorcycles, and playing his saxophone. He had a heart of gold, enjoyed helping others, and was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He worked as a skilled tile and granite setter and took great pride in his craftsmanship.

In addition to his mother, Ricky is survived by his daughter, Amber Gracie Black; his grandson, Baylor Nash Wallgren; his brothers, David Black (Katie) and Andy Campbell (Stephanie); his sister, Angela Hamilton (Billy); his aunt, Linda Christenson; his aunt and uncle, Steve and Deb Auton; his cousin, Michael Christenson (Jessica); and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his father, Harold Black, Ricky was preceded in death by his bonus father, Doyle Campbell ("Papa Bear"); his maternal grandparents, John and Betty Aisquith; his paternal grandparents, Dick and Roquetta Auton; and his uncle, Mark Auton.

Ricky's time here was far too short. His family will hold him close in their hearts forever. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he was a believer in Jesus Christ and that one day we will see him again.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Mountain View Baptist Church, 336 Mountain View Church Road, Six Mile, SC 29682.
